When to visit?

Best Overall Time to Visit Tanzania: June to October is the ideal time for safaris and Zanzibar, with dry weather and excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. For a quieter experience with lush landscapes, November and December are also good months, though you might encounter some rain.

December to March or June to October, also known as the dry season, is the peak safari season. The weather is dry, and animals tend to gather around waterholes, making it easier to spot wildlife in parks like Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater. The grass is shorter, improving visibility, and the animals are more concentrated. It's also the best time to witness the Great Migration in the Serengeti.

The dry season (June to October) is also the best time to visit Zanzibar. It experiences pleasant, warm weather with little rainfall, making it ideal for beach activities, snorkeling, and diving. This period is considered the best for outdoor adventures and exploring the island’s cultural attractions, such as Stone Town.
